After careful consideration we have decided to open a new production line dedicated to 5 star hotels. News is pending but we are on target to open the 80 mtr bathroom pod line in mid October. “Walker Modular has had a dramatic rise in the bathroom pod sector. This has been based on composite bathroom pods and developments up to 4 star. 2010 Comback

In August 2010, it was announced that the Walker Group www.walkergrp.com had bought the MFI world brand .

Walker Modular has started supplying bathroom pods to a third development of student accommodation in Newcastle in the last 10 months.

This will bring the total amount of pods delivered to Newcastle over the past 10 months to 1800 bathroom pods. Student accommodation has been a speciality of Walker Modular for

the last 5 years, with over 20 university projects completed in the past 24 months. All bathroom pods are made in the UK.

Our first Travelodge has now opened for business. The Travelodge is based in Newcastle Under Lyme and features 100 of our new Travelodge Composite Bathroom pods. The Composite bathroom pod has been designed with anti bacterial agents within the pod wall, this will ensure that the pod will look good and be free from mould for the lifetime of their Hotel. This new clean bathroom is available to view when you next stay at the Travelodge, or on a factory tour of our bathroom pod factory.  Many more Travelodge Hotels featuring our new Travelodge Bathroom Pods are opening in 2010. Walker Modular has started a major expansion plan with the Travelodge Hotel Chain. Walker Modular became the sole supplier to the Travelodge chain in 2009. A major expansion plan was planned and this has started to come to fruition. 20 new Hotels have started so far in the last few months with many more on the Horizon. Walker Modular are currently expanding the size of their already large manufacturing facilities. When finished the manufacturing facilities will be a quarter of a million square foot .MD Mr Shane Walker told us “The influx of demand for our services has been overwhelming , capacity is running at almost 200 units per week” “This investment is inline with our current expansion plans and will allow us to increase capacity considerably. We have reached a milestone! 180 ! We are now producing 180 bathroom pods per week. Work has stared onsite for our latest development at Newcastle. 450 bathroom pods will be supplied over the next 10 weeks. This is one of three sites we are currently supplying in the region.

Water conservation was the key in delivering a pod that satisfied our latest client. Each pod for the University is rated BREEAM excellent. The drastic saving of water consumption will lead to massive savings of natural resources such as water , gas and electricity. BREEAM excellent pods are now a standard of the Walker Modular range.

We are very proud to announce we have been successful in securing 150 bathroom pods for the University of Loughborough. The University were looking for a bathroom pod that could meet all the necessary sustainability points whilst at the same time being aesthetically pleasing. Pods are due onsite in Jan 2010.
